Stark's Star
This lovely dessert wine is
made from the Stark's Star grape developed in the 1880’s by Professor Bachman of Altus, Arkansas
from a cross of Norton and Catawba.
After successful field trials, he sold the commercial rights to Stark
Brothers Nursery of Louisiana, Missouri who
introduced it at the St. Louis
World’s Fair in 1904 where it garnered medals.
The dark fruitiness of this
grape, its intensity and complex structure together brings a delicious richness
to this dessert wine.

character.

had abountiful crop, mainly from the Greene Vineyard which we custom

Made from the tangy Native American Catawba grape, this version is
finished sweet. Others may call it "Pink Catawba" but we've
listened to people struggling to read the word so we were
inspired to just go with the first three letters...purr.
