Stark's Star Stark's Star

This lovely dessert wine is made from the Stark's Star grape developed in the 1880’s by Professor Bachman of Altus, Arkansas from a cross of Norton and Catawba.  After successful field trials, he sold the commercial rights to Stark Brothers Nursery of Louisiana, Missouri who introduced it at the St. Louis World’s Fair in 1904 where it garnered medals.

The dark fruitiness of this grape, its intensity and complex structure together brings a delicious richness to this dessert wine.

Silvio's Red Silvio's Red
A blend of Norton and the heritage grape, Stark Star (a cross between Norton and Catawba).  This red wine has a slight fruitiness of the Stark Star's labrusca heritage with the underlying structure of the Norton.  Finished a little sweet to complement its fruity character.

This is one of our American Tradition wines that reflects the characteristic taste associated with the Vitis Lubrusca American grapes, a species native to our country.

Vignoles - 2004 Vignoles
A luscious semi-sweet white wine filled with delicate, subtle flavors, lovely aroma and finish.

We are sold out of the 2007 vintage.  Stay tuned for the release of the eagerly anticipated '08 vintage due out closer to next Spring (2009).  We had abountiful crop, mainly from the Greene Vineyard which we custom work.  So there should be plenty of Vignoles this next year.
Vignoles - 2004 Celebration White
A semi-sweet white blend made from Seyval, Vidal and Cayuga grapes.  This smooth wine is a pleaser to many palates.  It has citrus overtones which give it a crispness, a whiff of floral and a long finish.  These grapes come together well to help you with any celebration.

Norton
A dry, full-bodied, deep colored, aromatic red wine with complex fruit flavors aged in oak.

We now have two vintages released:  Norton '04 and Norton '05.  The Norton '04 was released in August 2008 and has been very well received.  One of our customers calls it "the best Missouri Norton he has ever had".  That was until he tasted our Norton '05 with it deep chocolately tastes.  He still can't decide which he likes better.  He'll just have to keep tasting them both until he makes up his mind.  Then, again, why not both?
